The Diz






Victor Blackful has been a driving force behind Chicago's music scene since the early 1990s.  Best known as the dynamic On-Air Personality "The Diz" treating Chicago listeners to in-depth celebrity interviews, lively commentary and phone-in conversation, and the latest in urban contemporary music. He has interviewed leading artists including Puff Daddy, Janet Jackson, Jay-Z, Luther Vandross, Mariah Carey and others. With his finger on the pulse "The Diz" has been recruited to endorse and promote products for high profile corporations including Coca Cola, Reebok, Bally Total Fitness, I Tunes, Motorola and US Cellular, and has extensive commercial and voice over experience.  A prominent figure in the music industry, he has hosted and promoted countless concerts and events, appeared on national and local television shows including The  Oprah Show (2006) NBC Dateline (2006) and has been interviewed in both broadcast and print media.  A proactive leader in the Chicago community, Victor enthusiastically contributes his time as a Public Speaker and supporter of various outreach programs.  He is a recipient of numerous industry and community awards. With a keen talent for reaching broad populations, Victor excels in entertaining, engaging and impacting his audience.

  • Guest Speaker, Chicago Public School System, YMCA, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, ROTC.
  • Address topics impacting the community through public speaking engagements and Stopping the Hits, an on-air program providing an open forum for discussion of critical issues including AIDS, violence, drug abuse and teen pregnancy.
  • Citizens Information Service Award, Future Voter Program, for promoting civic education to public school students.
  • Youth Power on the Move Award, Chicago Housing Authority Cadre, for contributions to the Skills Development/Safe Summer Inner City Games program.
