Who is Soul 106.3
Soul 106.3 (WSRB 106.3 FM) is Chicago’s newest urban adult contemporary radio station. The station was created in 2003 to meet the needs of Chicago’s growing African American community who were looking for another alternative listening outlet with both new and old chart topping r&b and soul sounding hit music.
The radio station, located in Northwestern Indiana, reaches over 345,000 listeners each week and caters predominantly to Chicago’s south and south suburban audience as well as Northwest Indiana and the Rockford market. These are areas that are heavily populated by Chicago’s African American community.
When listening to Soul 106.3 you will hear the contemporary sounds of artists like Alicia Keys and John Legend followed by the chart topping hits of Earth Wind and Fire and the O’Jays. The stations core demographic audience is adults ages 25-54. The station airs all local personalities with the exception of Michael Baisden, national syndicated host and television star who was born and raised on Chicago’s south side. The station also airs many specialty shows including an all gospel Sunday, the Friday night basement party, and a Saturday night steppers segment.
